Join us for Mother Wendy Dixon's sermon: Mind the Gap-Connecting with God
Ordinary Time

 Wendy shares an insightful perspective about the sense of loneliness that can sometimes affect our feelings about God. The "gap" is a sense of loneliness that affects each of us since the fall of Adam and Eve. A sense of separation from God. Should we want to draw closer to God to bridge the "gap" we are feeling? Remembering who God is as the Psalmist does can help us to re-center our thoughts and feelings.
As Psalm 36 reminds us:
Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens;
    your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
    your justice like the ocean depths.
You care for people and animals alike, O Lord.
    How precious is your unfailing love, O God!
All humanity finds shelter
    in the shadow of your wings.
You feed them from the abundance of your own house,
    letting them drink from your river of delights.
For you are the fountain of life,
    the light by which we see.

What are the obstacles, and behaviors that can entrap us? What practices and spiritual formations can help us to close the gap?
