Join us for Canon Tim Clayton's sermon: Minor Prophets 2, Zechariah- Deeply Loved and Not Forgotten.
The Books of the Minor Prophets are simply shorter books.
But the beauty of the Minor Prophet books is that because they are shorter, they tend to get right to the point and "name" the issues at hand.
Zechariah
Questions for God: Where are you? What are you doing? Why is it taking so long? The people are waiting for 70 years. They've been counting the years, hoping for deliverance. Zechariah is the prophet that the people of his day are turning to and asking the questions of God:
Where are you? What are you doing? Why is it taking so long?
The book of Zechariah is mainly split into 2 halves
The first half is a series of dreams and visions, and a few of them reach beyond and break through to a new place, revealing what God is going to do.
This insightful sermon looks at the beautiful story of Joshua before the Lord.
Follow along with Zechariah 3: 1-10, 4.6
…This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”
Our opportunity and invitation from God is to be people who know that God is with us, and who understand that He deeply loves us. We walk in an unbreakable love and therefore we are able to invite others to our table to share with them to know deep inside that life is good because God loves us and God is good.
