Psalms Series Part 9: Psalm 40
Join us as we study the Psalms this season at Trinity North Shore.

Mother Wendy Dixon continues our series in the Psalms with a closer look at Psalm 40.

The Psalms describe a lot of tight situations, full of cries to God for "help".
In this week's Psalm 40, we see that in this song, David's help has come, the challenge has passed. David, having been trapped in a "pit" of his own bad behavior, "troubles beyond number have surrounded me, and my own sins have troubled me so that I cannot look up", and so David called out to God for help, the Lord met him and delivered him, and gave him a new song to sing.

Join us as Wendy shares some wonderful insights from this classic and beloved Psalm.

PSALMS
The power of music + melody + poetry together = songs.
Singing to the Lord together is good for our mental health, our soul, our appreciation of God and of one another. Open your heart, bring yourself into the story of God.

Why do we sing? As Pascal said, "the heart has reasons for which reason knows not..." Music is one of the few gifts we have to bring love, to bring peace, to bring healing, to speak out against injustice, to bring praise and adoration to those we love. Music crosses those valleys, those deserts, those oceans within us and helps to bring us home within ourselves, connecting with God, and with one another.
