Back in the summer of 2017, I had the pleasure of meeting Rick Devericks at the Department of Defense Warrior Games in Chicago. Watching him compete for Team SOCOM, I witnessed firsthand how beneficial archery was for Rick and others wounded in combat. That trip helped to further my mission for connecting Veterans to the sport and Rick and I became fast friends.
During our discussion, we talk about our faith, which Rick credits to his returning home safely from ten deployments, including five to Afghanistan. He also touches on how archery has helped him in his post-service life and how he's sharing that love with other Veterans through continued work with the Warrior Games and organizations like Challenge Aspen and the Kniestedt Foundation.
Rick selflessly served our country for 20 years and we thank him for his service. We are honored to be working with Veterans like Rick from coast to coast to help bring peace and healing to them through archery and the outdoors.
