Description

Welcome to the final episode of Series 2!

I leave you with a brilliant and inspiring episode - of the 4 Mums from Yorkshire who in 2015/2016 rowed the Atlantic.

In this episode I speak to Frances Davies, Helen Butters and Niki Doeg, all professional women who have 2 children each.  They share how they came to join a rowing club and just a year later, agreed to row an Ocean, despite their husbands being less than keen on the idea.

Their reasons for wanting to row all came from a similar desire to find themselves.  They share the highs and lows of the row and how they coped with the post adventure blues, missing their families and the legacy of the row - inspiring others, the confidence in themselves and the realisation that we don't need as much sleep as we think!

You can see and read more about the adventure as the documentary "Four mums in a boat"  is available on You Tube and the book of the same name is also available.  Both of which I highly recommend.

If 4 mums in their 40s can row an ocean with little experience, it sends such a positive message to us all -  we can all achieve big things, we just need to find our 'ocean'!

Thanks so much for listening.  If you have any guest ideas for series 3 please let me know and as ever, please leave a review on apple podcasts if that's where you listen and please share on your social.
