After 8 films in the franchise split across multiple timelines, the decision was made to reboot the Halloween series with a remake of John Carpenter's 1978 classic. Rob Zombie served as both writer and director, and unfortunately critics were not very receptive to his reimagining.
This week we're taking a look back to focus on what the movie does well! The story certainly contains many new elements not found in the original, resulting in a fresh feeling overall. Being a Zombie movie, we're treated to plenty of fun over the top kills. And holding it all together are some stellar performances from Malcolm McDowell, Daeg Faerch, and Tyler Mane as Samuel Loomis, Michael Myers, and Michael Myers respectively.
