After the success of Batman in 1989, it was clear to Hollywood what audiences wanted more of: Pulp heroes from the 1930's! But as it turns out The Phantom, armed with a skin tight purple jumpsuit and a pair of pistols used for anything but killing, wasn't what movie goers were looking for in the 90's.
Today we take a second look at one of Billy Zane's most well known movies and dig into everything it got right! Faithful adaptation of the source material? Check! Kick ass women? Check! Scenery chewing bad guys? C-H-E-C-K check!
As the old jungle saying goes, no one can resist The Phantom. He's a cool dude.
