When you dive into spiritual communities and metaphysical discussions, the concept of energy is often discussed in loose terms. We base the entirety of our spiritual understanding on the concept of ‘energy’, but do we truly know what energy is? When we speak about Reiki, do we understand the true inner meaning of the practice?
Reiki can be separated into two words, Rei meaning Universal, and Ki meaning ‘Life Force’ or ‘Life Energy.’ In essence, Reiki is the Universal energy that makes up everything in the Universe.
Reiki is calling you to come back to your fundamental energy. When you place your hands on your heart, you allow the mind, body, and energy to unite in focus on one portion of your being. This intense focus allows the energy to flow through, releasing any barriers, blocks, or entrenchments that have been ingrained within.
When you listen to the precepts, they are calling you to come back to your inner stillness. To connect with your Inner Being, so that the true nature of your energy may flow freely. In this way, Reiki becomes akin to a meditation practice- a modality that is, once again, calling you to return to your true nature as the energy that is all things.
