Box Elder County has officially withdrawn from the District 1 Local Mental Health Authority, a move triggered by a major reorganization of behavioral health services across the region. In February, the three counties—Box Elder, Cache and Rich—approved a 50-year interlocal agreement giving the Bear River Health Department direct oversight of mental health and substance abuse programs. That agency will now develop regional plans, coordinate funding, and work directly with the Utah Department of Health and Human Services.
