Description

Almond

Prunus spp.

Appearance: Almond trees can grow to be 25’. They have pointed oval leaves, and bear white or pink flowers with five petals. The almond nut that we eat is the seed.

When the Israelites complained about the tribe of  Levi being made priests, God told Moses to borrow staffs from all twelve tribes. God chose the priestly tribe by making that staff bud. Aaron the Levite had a staff made from a shaft of dried almond wood, which grew leaves, flowers and almonds by God’s power!

And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.
