Description

Azalea

Rhododendron spp.

Appearance: The azalea is a flowering shrub with  long, thin leaves. In the spring, azaleas have flowers with five petals that are generally white, coral, pink, or red. Their blossoms often cover the entire bush in a showy display of color.

Varieties of Azalea are native to the Holy Land. The brightly colored blossoms of the azalea remind us of the majesty of the Lord.

It [the desert] shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God.
