Rose of Sharon
Hibiscus syriacus
Appearance: The rose of Sharon is related to the hibiscus plant. It has lobed leaves and beautiful, large hibiscus-like blossoms.
The rose of Sharon was named after the Biblical reference, instead of vice versa. It is beautiful and recalls Christ’s purity and the beauty we are supposed to have as his beloved church.
I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valley.
