Wisteria
Wisteria frutescens
Appearance: The wisteria is a woody flowering vine in the bean family. Its leaves are made up of many leaflets. It has flowers that grow in a drooping cluster that are white, pink, purple or blue. The flowers have a lovely scent.
Flowering vines like wisteria are present in the Bible. The writer of Psalms compares Israel to a vine and asks God to protect and care for it.
Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine; and the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
Psalm 80:14-15 KJV
