Social media brought us some good and some bad things within our industry:
Have you noticed the influx of information that you can find online regarding beauty and skin care? It's almost overwhelming and confusing, right? As a professional in the industry, I often do see videos or read articles that are totally not advising the right thing and this is where influencers, MLM (multi-level-marketing companies) and celebrity lines come into play. Not all the information you will find online will be true, and just because your favorite influencer uses it (and is paid or sponsored to talk about it), chances are it won't work for your skin.
This is an opinion based podcast, from my professional point of view as an esthetician.. but it is a juicy one. Full disclaimer, I don't want to bash on anyone who does this, but I do think that there is a line to be respected when it comes to giving advise on skin care.
Thanks for your ears and don't forget to leave a 5 star review if you enjoy my podcast!
