California Governor Gavin Newsom appointed, and the State Legislature confirmed, Lourdes Castro RamÃrez, to serve as Secretary of the Business, Consumer Services, and Housing Agency.
As Secretary, Lourdes leads and oversees 10 state departments and 6500 employees with responsibility for 1) preserving & expanding affordable housing, 2) advancing statewide collaborative efforts to prevent & end homelessness, 3) guarding against employment and housing discrimination, 4) regulating financial services, and 5) licensing nearly 4 million working professionals.
