Welcome to Episode 9! This week we speak with two of our friends who work in the field directly with survivors of human trafficking.
Maegan Heller, MSW, is an expert in complex trauma- that is, recurring traumas. Maegan is a clinician who helps people understand their personal trauma and teaches them healthy tools that allow the individuals to have vibrant lives in the wake of their personal trauma. Maegan is constantly learning and adapting to her craft and identifies as a life-long learner which is precisely what makes her such a phenomenal therapist.
Sabrina Lopez is the founder and CEO of Girl, Speak Up Inc- a non-profit that raises awareness for human trafficking. With her website, social media platform, and speaking engagements, Sabrina raises awareness on the grooming methods, manipulation tactics, and mind control that occurs before a child is ever trafficked. She implores parents to learn what these subtle manipulations look like to protect their children from predators.
