Just about a 2 hour drive from the community of Gran Pacifica is the beautiful Nicaraguan city of Granada on the shores of Lake Nicaragua. Lake Nicaragua is the largest lake in Central America and has more than 300 islets, 3 islands and 2 volcanoes to explore. In Granada you will see amazing Spanish colonial landmarks and neoclassical architecture. The Spanish conqueror, Francisco Hernández de Córdoba, founded Granada on April 21, 1524 which makes the city almost 500 years old. Interesting fact is that the currency of Nicaragua, the Córdoba is named after him.
