Farewell October
Falling into blue
Falling into blue,
beyond the clouds of rain
and grey, thinking of blossoms
and stories,
at the end of this autumnal day,
for the leaves blow silent now
the years like days,
one by one,
there’s an emptiness of sky since you left
and simply journeyed on,
the horizons seem further now,
the spring
only shadows
in a passing dark,
the stars shine only in memory,
constellations of wonder
still leaving their mark,
and as the seasons close,
and night calls
across the remaining glimpses of light,
summer’s heart turns to you and with such thoughts
as moments can ever be,
I wish you well,
my dear October,
good night,
my love
