11:30pm Bryce Laspisa leaves his girlfriend's apartment in Chico, California

1:00am Bryce speaks with his mom. She assumes he's home.
11:00am The Laspisas get an alert from State Farm that roadside assistance has been used on Bryce's car in Buttonwillow, California (roughly 3 hours north of them)

Bryce will move 8 miles over the next 9 hours despite encouragement from Saint Christian the roadside assistance guy who continues to check on him and local police. 

August 30, 2013
8am CHP shows up at The Laspisa's Laguna Niguel home. Bryce's car has been found down an embankment on its side. Bryce isn't with the car.

A search by air, foot, and in the waters of Lake Castiac turn up no sign of Bryce. Bloodhounds trace his scent around the lake, across the dam, and lose it at the truck stop on the other side.
