Before we are restored to sanity, I would like to speak a little (maybe a lot!), about my experience and path to the discovery of God within myself. Let me be crystal clear, for me, a Higher Power or Power greater than myself, is God! It is NOT a group, a person or sponsor or any other physical or earthly thing. God may be described as He or She, (I do not believe God has a sex. I think God is referred to as He or Father due to the social context of the times), but I am most comfortable with thinking of God as Love!
I also believe that Jesus, (as well as others), was sent as a sort of emissary from God, as an example of what God expects from us. I believe that Jesus, and others like Him, have a special connection to God and can be a sort of conduit between me and God.
I also believe in my Spirit and that it is the ‘real’, or should I say, ‘God me’, that I try to give control of my life.
I hope this does not sound too complicated. It really isn’t! I hope to simplify it in this podcast.
