How many times have you been in a difficult conversation with your partner only to be totally surprised (and perhaps pissed off by) the way that they react? Are they the problem or are you?
Rather than play the blame game, wouldn't it make more sense to see how you can not only handle the situation better the next time around but maybe...just maybe...prevent the house from burning down in the first place?
