Another friday and another training deep dive with Steven Collins!

A little while ago we did an episode called how to build your training program which was incredibly popular but now so many of you are set up and in the gym training I think it is time we talk how to progress in the gym!

When we talk about progression we often hear the buzzword progressive overload but do you know what that actually means? and do you know that this is only half the battle!

In this episode we talk about firstly acute overload. How to ensure you are making the most of every rep, every set and every individual workout! From how to work out how hard you need to train to how to ensure your rep quality is where it needs to be.

We then discuss how to progress your training block by block so you can ensure you progress over the long term talking all the ways you can create an overload not just adding weight to the bar. 

This was a really fun episode to record and there is many gems in here for both beginners, advanced trainees and coaches including a very entertaining rant about why Ste (and me) think that eccentric chin ups are s**t at helping people get their first chin up.
