In this episode of the Self Made Podcast, it is a pleasure to welcome Blake West to the show.
Blake stands out from the other guests on the show as he is currently my coach working towards a photo shoot but more importantly than that some longer-term goals that I have.
You see I have had many coaches work with me to get lean and I feel like I know how to do that now and it has helped my coaching practice with my clients tenfold! my aim with starting the coaching process again was to get coaching on the other side of the coin. Building life long habits and building tissue long term.
One of the things that has massively helped with this is the shift from an all or nothing mentality something that Blake massively has encouraged during my prep and this is how I managed to not take a huge step backwards during my recent impromptu trip to Dubai and the hotel quarantine that followed.
In this episode, we speak about this and what we see with coaches when trying to get their clients in shape! More is not always better and we see many coaches trying to through the kitchen sink at clients on day one with over the top complexity, training volume and calorie targets. We aim with this show to break these apart and give people a clear idea of what they should focus on early on as well as looking at some of the mental barriers along the way.
