Description

This week we talk to a friend who served as an Army Ranger and provides his insights on the nearly 20-year long counterterrorism mission, the original reason for America's involvement in Afghanistan. We discuss how the rather successful counterterrorism mission would eventually take a back seat to the counterinsurgency that developed during the Afghan election season of 2004. In the second half we talk about the rapid Taliban gains in the two months since this podcast started and address the idea of staying in Afghanistan in order to justify those that gave their lives during the war.
