EDINBURG, Texas - During a recent press conference, the dean of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine, Dr. John Krouse, announced that the first priority of distribution for the COVID-19 vaccine will be the frontline health professionals.
I asked Internal Medicine Physician with UT Health RGV, Dr. Chelsea Chang, if there were any side effects from the vaccine so far. I also asked the Chief Resident, Internal Medicine, Dr Arturo Suplee Rivera, if receiving the COVID vaccine has resulted in any negative events.
Dr. Rivera commented about negative information that is circulating about the COVID-19 vaccine. I also spoke to Internal Medicine Physician, Dr. Michelle Lopez, about any reactions to the COVID 19 vaccine.
According to Dr Lopez none of the health concerns with the vaccine are backed by actual science. The priority of distribution for the COVID-19 vaccine is mandated by the Centers for Disease Control.
