HARLINGEN, Texas - The IRS is resuming operations after being shut down due to the coronavirus.
According to Rev Torres, a paralegal with the Taxpayer Assistance Project, this has concerned many taxpayers that owe taxes to the IRS because IRS collection activities have also resumed.
Torres said the IRS recently announced it would be offering some relief to taxpayers that owe taxes to the IRS.
The Texas Taxpayer Assistance Project is a division of Texas RioGrande Legal Aid.
Torres was a regular contributor on taxation issues when KHID 88.1 FM and KJJF 88.9 FM were running NPR programing in the Rio Grande Valley.
Now the stations are longer part of NPR, I have moved over to The Rio Grande Guardian, with Torres joining me to offer expert tax advice. At 88 FM I was a radio presenter.
