RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas - Starr County Judge Eloy Vera says he is pleased Gov. Greg Abbott is treading cautiously when it comes to easing restrictions on the coronavirus lockdown.
Vera spoke during a webinar designed to explain to Starr County residents the speed at which businesses will reopen.
“We are trying to open up the business community as best we can. I am certainly concerned about the speed at which we open and I was very pleasantly surprised that the governor came up… they are really baby steps and I am all for that. I think the governor did a great job on this one, as far as how we are going to open up,” Vera said.
Gov. Abbott is allowing some business activity to take place. What this means for employers, employees and customers was discussed in depth on the webinar hosted by Rose Benavidez, executive director of Starr County Industrial Foundation.
