Julie Daniluk, RHN, is a leading nutritionist and has been featured on The Marilyn Denis Show several times to share nutritional tips and tricks and healthy meal ideas. For twelve years, she was a co-operative owner and the Chief in-store Nutritionist for one of Canada's largest health food stores, The Big Carrot Natural Food Market. Julie’s passion for nutrition and conscious eating started when she was about seven years old when her mother realized that Julie had severe Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). For Julie, this showed up in symptoms such as insomnia, terrible grades, incredible ups and downs with her moods, and an inability to hold focus. Following the work of Dr. Feingold, a Paediatric Allergist from California, her Mother took Julie off all sugar, artificial sugar, and sucrose and within two weeks her grades went from D’s to straight A’s and she was able to fall asleep at night and get a full night’s rest. These results are attested to the decrease in brain inflammation caused by sugar and sugar byproducts and without the presence of the inflammation, she was able to move into a state of rest and regeneration instead of her body being in fight or flight mode.Eliminating Inflammation in the Body and ways that we can Identify it:Inflammation is the body’s emergency healing response system, so we don’t want to fully demonize inflammation because it's what heals you when you have an infection. We need inflammation so that our immune system is aware of when and where to send in help. Inflammation, however, can become a negative thing when it’s locked in for too long and goes from acute inflammation to chronic inflammation. The key here is to learn how to switch this off before it causes a lot of damage.Know that every single relationship is changeable, including your relationship to food. When you feed yourself healing food, it’s a loving act. Just start with what you can put into your body and by making a positive choice, it will start a domino effect of feeling good and continuing to make better choices. You can find your way through something, the stress comes from the change, and once you adapt to that change (the only constant in life) it can become something that improves the quality of your life. If you want anything in your life, it all starts with the gateway of your health because once your health is sorted, everything is possible.
