Every year during this week that we call "Holy Week," it strikes me how the crowd changed. On Sunday, when Jesus came into Jerusalem, humble, and riding on a donkey, the people took off their cloaks, and took palm branches, laying them down on the road to show honor to Jesus. They were shouting "Hosanna!" which is a phrase which expresses joy and praise.
5 short days later, these same voices are crying out: "Crucify him!" I ask myself- how does this happen? And along with that question- why does this happen?
The answer lies in the pages of the Bible. This Sunday we took the time to read the passion history through the eyes of the gospel writer Luke. We walked with Jesus as he came into Jerusalem, as he walked through Gethsemane, as he was put on trial, and as he was put on the cross.
This podcast episode is a short devotion that was preached after reading Luke 19:29- Luke 23:43. If you have the time, read these words- the words that record what Jesus did for you. Remember his love for you, his passion for saving you. See your Savior, Jesus, on his most humble, yet most glorious day.
