The risen Jesus in Matthew 28:16-20. Gathers the disciples at the Mount of Olives. Just before ascending to Heaven, he tells the disciples to do one simple thing: “Share the Gospel.”
As disciples of Jesus, we are also to do that one simple thing which is to “Share the Gospel.”
Often as Christians we do not share the Gospel for reasons that have more to do with us than the person we hope to share with.
Sharing is the operative word; we do not tell people about the Gospel we share with them.
There is no set way to share the story of Jesus. However, when we start our journey of sharing with sharing, we will fulfill the command of the Lord.
Please allow me share three thoughts:
Share The Gospel By Listening
Proverbs 18:13 tells us: “If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame.”
When we listen, people are far more willing to tell you where they are spiritually.
Listening takes effort and time understand that it may take weeks or months before trust is build even with someone, we have known before discussion of faith take place. Remember by simply listing we are sharing the Gospel.
Share The Gospel By Sharing Your Story
2 Timothy 1:8 tells us to not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord.
When we share avoid taking yourself too seriously, the sharing of our story is about God not you. The account of your story with God need not be a drama, it is simply your ongoing account of how God is working in your life.
Remember in sharing our sorry it’s about our faithfulness not about our perfection.
Share The Gospel In Prayer
“Pray for one another” is the advice given in James 5:16. Prayers of intercession are powerful ways to share the Gospel. Listen for things in people’s lives that we can go to the Lord in prayer. Pray with the person we are sharing with or pray for them alone. Remember: Pray without ceasing.
Sharing the Gospel is the command of God that we so equipped to do. It takes no special skill or talent, simply a commitment to share. Remember the more we share the Gospel the better we become at sharing. – So share the Gospel today!!
