If there was a big game in the NBA, Mark Jackson, the ESPN analyst who was let go this week in a cost cutting move was at the mic.  For the past 15 years he has called the NBA finals, sharing insights gained as a standout point guard at Saint John’s University and 17 years in the league finishing his career ranked in the top ten all time in assists.

“Mama There Goes That Man!” was a phase used by Jackson to punctuate a great play.   The phase is a reference to an old joke about an adulterous relationship seen through the innocent eyes of a child.

Regardless of its originals the phase “Mama There Goes That Man!” begs the question “Who Is That Man?”   In watching the games called by Jackson, “That Man” is there for all of us to see, the player who hit the critical shot, the player who made the slam dunk, the player who made the great defensive play.   Mana, we know who that man is because we just saw him do something great.

Psalm 14:1 tells us that only fools don’t know God.  However, when asked the question “Who Is God?”  Can we really respond with an answer about how we know of God’s nature, how we know of God’s character, how we know of God’s work and how we know of our relationship with God.

Join us tomorrow at Greater Bethel where we explore this question in a teaching entitled: “Who Is God?  Worship with us at 11:00 AM in person at 140 Rose Street in Athens or on YouTube channel or Facebook page.  Find sermons, blogs, podcasts and more on our website GBAAthens.org.  So until tomorrow Blessings, Peace and Love.
