Tomorrow is Easter and as our eyes are focused on the empty tomb, our attention will shift to the blessings that come to God’s people if we are faithful to Him.

Those blessings can be found in Isaiah 61 which foreshadowed Jesus setting the captives free.

The 40 days of Lent has demonstrated how we can become captive to things.  Sweets, Swearing, and in my case Chick-fil-A are all things that we become prisoners to.  With thoughts that we could never live without them.

However, tomorrow we will celebrate our victory over sweets, swearing, and
Chick-fil-A.  But more importantly we celebrate the victory of Jesus over death and the salvation, He brings to all of us.

But what about tomorrow?  With Lent over and the victory won, will we go back to the sweets, the swearing, and the Chick-fil-A?

The blessings of God’s favor is freedom. The freedom paid for on the cross to turn away from the captives of the past to the liberty of a new day. Released to go beyond the sweets, the swearing, and the Chick-fil-A to be what God has always wanted us to be a people delivered and ready to freely chose to follow Him over sweets, swearing and Chick-fil-A.
