What makes you happy? I am happy when I spend time with the grandkids. I am happy when the Braves win. I am happy on a warm summer day enjoying it with the one I love. In thinking about the things that make us happy how often do we think that worshiping and serving the Lord can make us happy.
Psalm 68:3-4 says “May the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful. Sing to God, sing in praise of his name.”
This is not the put on a smile and fake it to you make it kind of happy that makes you a “good Christian.” Finding happiness in worshiping and serving God is the authentic praise and good feeling that you get when you know that you know that you know that what you are doing, you are doing it for the glory of God.
So, the next time you think about what makes you happy included God because he is the center of our joy.
