Planning a road trip? Here is our tips to help you ensure that you have a great trip that you will not forget for all the good reasons and not the bad.
-have a daily budget
-get your car inspected
-if renting a car make sure it is big enough but not too big
-regular road atlas
-join AAA
-check out websites such as roadside America
-Distilled Water
-Spare parts for car
-Tire sealer
-first aid kit
-chains in winter (but not with a rental car)
-sunglasses, hat, etc, sunscreen
-coats
-pillows and blankets
-toilet paper, hand sanitizer, lotion, soap, wet wipes
-pet bed, food, pills, etc
-cords for electronics
Bring water bottles.
-leave extra time in the day
-don’t push the milage every day, leave some days with less milage, time to relax
-keep your fuel tank, fill up when you get to half a tank.
-try to travel only during the day.
-avoid rush hour in big cities.
-use hotel free breakfasts to save money
-have your big meal at lunch, and a smaller meal at dinner.
-remember the outside temperature will affect the interior of the car very quickly when shut off.
-remember you will lose cell phone service and addicted kids will freak out.
-think about how the weather will affect you, especially if you are not used to it.
