Renee Ya is Hmong American and grew up in Fresno, CA. With over 16 years of experience in the technology and video game industry in the San Francisco Bay Area. Co-founder of Tiger Byte Studios, a full-service technology company actualizing products and games. A Product Manager by trade and mother to the next feisty generation of women warriors. She is also heavily involved in the preservation and promotion of Hmong culture in America through the Celebrate Hmong art and music festival that she is involved in.
In today’s episode, Renee shared her knowledge of the Hmong culture/people/history along with her reasons why she is so passionate about knowing and understanding her culture. We also talked about her career in the gaming industry and her thoughts on the gaming industry. Last, she talked about what she does to preserve her culture and also a lot of interesting stats and facts that you didn’t know about Hmong people in America.
