Today’s episode features Angela Luong, the co-founder of Calm On! - the mental health app for kids age 6-11. In the episode, we talk about Angela’s story, mental health awareness, and the inspiration for the app. Also, we got into what exactly is the app and what is the goal of the app.
Calm On! aims to teach children ages 6-11 healthy ways to develop emotional intelligence and provide a safe, fun, and accessible way to learn how to process their concerns, worries, and fears during the pandemic (also applicable to other life transitions). Being cognizant of the attractiveness of the gaming aspect for this age group, we are trying to engage users with game reward incentives, animations, character dialogues, and fun activities; features other mental health apps don’t have.
