Body Balancing includes different exercises and techniques that help your bones, ligaments, muscles, and fascia to be nicely aligned and balanced so your body and baby can be in the best shape and position for birth. When the body and the baby are nicely aligned, birth is often easier and faster than it would've been without proper balancing. Today, doula Steffanie Thomas and I talk about 6 tips to help balance your body before birth.
- Body balancing is important because women are much more sedentary than we were 100 or more years ago.
- There are 6 main body balancing tips that Steffanie and I give to all of our clients. They work the best when they are used often during pregnancy.
- Spinning Babies®
- Webster Certified Chiropractic Care
- Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
- Prenatal Massage
- Maya Abdominal Massage
- Prenatal Yoga/Exercise
- There are a few other random things that are helpful, too, like sitting and sleeping smart.
- A properly balanced body often has an easier labor.

- *Spinning Babies®: Their website lists MANY exercises that are helpful for pregnancy & birth, but it is the specific composition of movements that make them officially Spinning Babies®; I didn't make this clear in the podcast and even refer to some exercises as "Spinning Babies®" incorrectly.
