We all need an outlet to process life and express our thoughts, feelings, and ideas. Today’s guest is Courtney Leblanc, full-time government worker by day, and feminist poet and publisher by night. Courtney is the author of the full-length collections Exquisite Bloody, Beating Heart (Riot in Your Throat) and Beautiful & Full of Monsters (Vegetarian Alcoholic Press). She is also the founder and editor-in-chief of Riot in Your Throat, an independent poetry press. She loves nail polish, tattoos, and a soy latte each morning.
I love this interview because we cover so many topics related to her craft. We discuss her latest book, as well as finding our voices, using the power of written words to process life struggles, and we even talk about the loss of metaphor and myth in current society. You’ll be inspired to read, write, dance, create—and express yourself in any way that puts a little more soul in your life.
Read Courtney’s publications on her blog, www.wordperv.com, and follow her on Twitter @wordperv and IG @wordperv79. You can also join her writing workshop, The Ins & Outs of Submitting Your Work for Publication.
