Description

Lisa Denning was working in ad sales for a Manhattan publishing firm when she came to the realization that the pleasures of the table were her true passion, and where she wanted her professional life to develop. The only problem was that she didn’t know how to cook. Growing up, Lisa had done a lot of baking, but she didn’t have much opportunity to prepare full meals. She decided to leave her lucrative sales job to attend the French Culinary Institute, paving the way for a career in food, and ultimately, wine.

Soon after embarking on her new career, Lisa’s path veered to full-time motherhood with the arrival of her three daughters who, along with her husband, reaped the benefits of Lisa’s culinary expertise. Eventually, Lisa got a friendly nudge back into the working world by her friends who, knowing her love of food and wine, gifted her a professional wine certification course. Her training led to a sales associate position at one of New York’s most prestigious wine shops. Four years later, she decided to share her knowledge and experiences by starting The Wine Chef, now an award-winning personal blog.
