Have you ever felt the gnawing pangs of loneliness? So many times in my life through moves and lost friendships, I too have confronted those cold moments of isolation. In this episode we talk about how our desires can be as fickle as the wind, how we yearn for solitude amidst chaos only to long for companionship in stillness.
The path to understanding loneliness comes in many shades - social, emotional, and existential. I've grappled with the awkward dance of forming friendship circles, the huge shifts of friend groups during college, and the lingering self-doubts these experiences leave behind.
But through it all, I've discovered the powerful connections we form when we open up about our loneliness. This episode invites you to embrace this shared human experience, to find comfort in scripture, and to realize that we are never truly alone.
"Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22 ESV)
"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever" (Psalm 73:26 ESV).
"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19 ESV).
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid" (John 14:27 NIV).
