Cardio: cardiovascular exercise. We've heard it our whole adult lives: "Get your Cardio in!" In the 1980's and 90's, we cardioed ourselves to death. Whether Jane Fonda-ing, running or crossfitting, we were all in for ALL of it! In fact, truth be told, many of us overdid it. We didn't completely understand the value of strength training while we were enjoying those endorphin-crazed workouts.
But things are different in midlife. While we still need movement to work our heart muscle, it doesn't have to be at quite the intensity nor the frequency that we did it in our 20's and 30's.
