What the heck are amino acids?
The short answer is that they are the building blocks of protein. The long answer is that some of them are made by the human body and some aren't. All of them are important to optimal human function.
You know that Cam and Amelia are all about prioritizing protein. This isn't only to support balanced nutrition and to feed working muscles (including the brain). There are other reasons to prioritize protein. But what kinds of protein? How are proteins different?
These amazing building blocks of protein called amino acids function in the body to help us break down food, repair body tissue, make hormones and brain chemicals, provide energy, help us sleep, fight infection and detox.
