Assuming that your children are going to do something, Mom, because YOU ask is only setting yourself up for heartache.
When we assume, we are telling our brain we believe it to be true. We tell ourselves that we know something will happen, but here is what we don't consider.
💎Other people have agency of what they want to do, or what they feel is in alignment for themselves.
💎It is actually pretty healthy for them to decide for themselves when they don't want to do something.
💎It does not mean that they don't love and respect your wishes.
Rather than assuming things about your adult children try having an open line of communication. Provide for them a safe space free from guilt and shame.
This will alleviate a ton a heartache on both sides. They don't want to hurt you, but they do want to honor their wants, needs and desires.
