“I Should…”

On the surface thinking “I should ” seem harmless, even useful. But the truth is, for some people it is a sneaky triggering thought that only pretends to be helpful and can pack quite a punch.
For me, thinking “I should…”,triggers feelings of guilt, anxiety, shame, self-criticism, comparison, and judgment. I mistakenly think this little thought will motivate me into doing something. But the reality is, it doesn’t, and sometimes thinking “I should…” prevents me from getting anything done.
