Description

When you think of indulging in something, what would it be?  For me it is chocolate chip cookie dough. Whenever anyone in my family makes chocolate chip cookies, I am right there with a spoon ready to test the dough.  And warm cookies right out of the oven...yes, I will indulge in a few.

When we indulge in something we  yield to the desire of that thing or give free rein to it. 

Without even realizing it, many of us allow ourselves to indulge in certain thoughts and emotions, thoughts that have become automatic or what I call our "go-to" thoughts like:
I have so much to do!
I don't know where to start.
I don't know.
What if this happens or that happens?

And these when we indulge in these thoughts, it creates the indulgent emotions of overwhelm, confusion, anxiety or worry.    Although these emotions might be our normal, "go-to" emotions, they are never useful.  In fact all they do is keep us stuck spinning in circles, preventing us from moving forward. 

And, more often than not, these indulgent thoughts and emotions are a cover-up for what is really going on. 

I will explore why we often indulge in these thoughts and emotions and explain how to recognize when we do, and what we can do to stop.
