On this episode of the C&C podcast, Marcus shares the story behind “The Drop”; a short film based on his memoir from 2010. He tells the real parameters of when he was dropped off, the fears and doubts and insecurities he felt when he first learned of The Drop.
Marcus raps on about navigation and orientation, giving credit to his parents, specifically his father, for instilling a sense of direction. The Hotness asks some very pointed questions about the experience and shares her own fear of maneuvering without the lights on.
Marcus tells of the process of eating an elephant, one bite at a time, is the same as learning orientation and mobility. He tells of growing up in a town without a stoplight and the challenges of learning O&M in a small town.
Marcus recounts how he was trained to have one skill built on top of another, starting with safely maneuvering down a single block, then going around the block, then crossing a single, small street and working up to bigger and more difficult traffic situations.
Marcus then shares the celebration after completing The Drop and then teases the next episode to hear about the filming of the short movie.
