It is extremely important for goalkeepers to be leaders on the pitch and especially to their back line. If you can communicate effectively and efficiently with your backline, you will be able to solver problems before they even happen. Being a leader also means supporting and building up your teammates. Also, you want to be aware of how you are communicating to those around you. You want to inspire trust and work ethic, not fear and distain. Make sure you communicate off the pitch as well with your teammates and coaches so you can all be on the same page.
