What does it mean to lead with a servant's heart? Certainly it means to think of others in your life or organization first. It means sacrificing personal time and even personal gain for the betterment of those around you. But maybe the most important action a good leader can take is to shoulder the blame when something goes wrong. Taking full responsibility will squash dissension and resentment but it also creates good will and teamwork with those around you. Today I give you a peek into what it was like dealing with the notorious New York sports media and how my teammates and I would work together to make sure they couldn’t twist our words or allow blame and conflict to get whispered around our clubhouse and in the press.
