Once you set a goal, once you are on the path to a change in your life it can be easy to get distracted and fall back into old habits or get overwhelmed by everyday life. There is a very simple and practical tool you can use to combat this distraction and to remind you of the commitment you made to yourself. It’s called a structure. A structure is simply something that makes you stop and remember what you are trying to accomplish. The goal is to bring you back to the present moment and give you a pause to refocus. It could be anything, alarms set on your phone, an affirmation said each morning, listening to a certain song, these are all examples of structures. Find those things in your life that will remind you to stop and refocus your efforts on your commitments. It’s simple and effective.
