If the CREATOR OF EVERYTHING called you up, you’d probably answer (after you regained consciousness … and unless, like Mary Ann, you don’t answer calls from strange area codes). Well, guess what? God IS calling—all day, every day—because He wants to share His heart with you and for you to pour out your heart to Him. That time alone with God is essential if we’re going to grow and flourish in our faith, so why’s it such a struggle? Mary Ann says her house is quiet but her brain is noisy; Luanne says she desperately wants to get back to the days of yore when God regularly woke her up in the wee hours to spend time with Him. How about you? Is this a discipline you’ve mastered or a struggle? Either way, we all need to be reminded of this one amazing truth: God wants to spend time with us.
